1. Who operates SetOnward
SetOnward is operated by Sumit Kumar, an individual (“SetOnward”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This policy applies to the SetOnward iPhone application, Apple Watch companion, website and related support communications.
2. Information processed by the app
SetOnward may process information you enter or generate while using the app, including workout plans, exercise selections, sets, repetitions, weights or resistance, rest durations, session progress, completed-workout history and app preferences.
If you grant permission, SetOnward may use Apple HealthKit to start and record workout sessions and to read or write information needed for the workout experience, such as workout type, workout start and end time, duration, active energy and heart rate. The precise HealthKit categories requested are shown in Apple’s permission screen. HealthKit access is optional.
SetOnward does not currently require a SetOnward account. The current app is designed to process workout state and preferences on your iPhone and Apple Watch rather than transmit that information to a SetOnward server.
3. Information you send to us
If you contact us for support or privacy assistance, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots and diagnostic details. Please do not include Health information or other sensitive information unless it is necessary to resolve your request.
4. Website and technical information
When you visit the SetOnward website, hosting and security providers may automatically process limited technical information required to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser or device type, requested page, date and time, and security or error logs. We do not use HealthKit information for website analytics, advertising or tracking.
5. How information is used
Information is processed only as needed to provide the features you request, guide and record workouts, synchronise workout state between your paired devices, remember your preferences, complete purchases if paid features are offered, respond to support requests, maintain security, diagnose failures, comply with law and enforce our terms.
SetOnward does not use HealthKit or other health and fitness information for advertising, marketing, profiling, eligibility decisions or use-based data mining.
6. Storage and device synchronisation
Workout state and app preferences are designed to remain locally on your devices and may be exchanged between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple-provided connectivity. Depending on your Apple and device-backup settings, locally stored app information may be included in an encrypted or cloud device backup controlled by Apple.
Information written to Apple Health is stored and managed by Apple under your device, Apple Account, Health and iCloud settings. Apple’s handling of that information is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policies.
7. Permissions and your choices
SetOnward requests device permissions only for features you choose to use. You may decline HealthKit access and continue using features that do not require it. You can review or revoke Health permissions at any time in the Health app or iPhone Settings. Revoking a permission does not automatically delete information previously written to Apple Health and may prevent workout recording, heart-rate display or energy estimates from working.
8. Sharing and service providers
SetOnward does not sell or rent personal information and does not share workout or HealthKit information with advertising networks, data brokers or third parties for their own marketing.
Information may be processed through Apple services that you choose to use, including HealthKit, Apple Watch connectivity, device or iCloud backup, the App Store and StoreKit. Limited website or support information may be processed by providers that host, secure or deliver those services. Providers are permitted to process information only for the relevant service and subject to their applicable safeguards.
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or a valid legal process, protect users or the public, investigate misuse, or establish and defend legal rights. If the app is transferred as part of a reorganisation, acquisition or sale, applicable information may transfer subject to this policy and applicable law.
9. HealthKit commitments
SetOnward accesses HealthKit information only after you authorise specific categories. We do not sell HealthKit information, use it for targeted or behavioural advertising, disclose it to data brokers, or use it for marketing or unrelated data mining. We do not knowingly write false or inaccurate information to Apple Health.
10. Retention and deletion
Local workout information and preferences remain on your devices until removed through the app, where available, or by deleting SetOnward. Information already written to Apple Health must be viewed or deleted separately in the Health app. Removing the app does not necessarily remove Apple Health records or copies contained in an existing device backup.
Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain appropriate business records, address disputes or comply with law. Website security logs are retained according to the operational and security needs of the relevant hosting provider.
Because SetOnward does not currently operate user accounts or a workout-data server, we generally do not possess a server-side workout record to delete. For questions or deletion requests concerning information you sent directly to us, contact privacy@setonward.com.
11. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. Local information also depends on the security of your iPhone, Apple Watch, passcode, Apple Account, operating system and backups. No device, transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information that we control, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To submit a request, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify the request and may retain information when required or permitted by law.
For information held by Apple Health, your device or Apple-controlled backups, use the controls provided by Apple because SetOnward does not control those systems.
13. Children
SetOnward is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
14. International use
Website or support information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such processing. Workout and HealthKit information that remains on your devices is governed by the storage and synchronisation choices you make with Apple.
15. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as SetOnward develops or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we will provide additional notice when required.
